Job Title: GIS Mapping Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Mapping Specialist to join our team at Burns & McDonnell. As a key member of our geospatial team, you will be responsible for developing, updating, analyzing, and managing GIS data for various professional services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS analysis, data development, maintenance, and preparation for use in public safety GIS systems. You will also be required to regularly communicate project status to customers and work closely with functional teams to deliver GIS data and services to clients.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze GIS data and mapping for the Engineering and Surveying departments while supporting internal and external project teams.
  • Produce technical specifications, project approach, cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Develop and review GIS mapping and data collection tasks.
  • Utilize software packages and information from various sources to create GIS maps.
  • Perform digital feature extraction from multiple data sources.
  • Execute projections and transformations for project deliverables.
  • Support GIS system needs and requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in GIS, geography, environmental science, or closely related field and 3 years of experience required.
  • Basic GIS skills, including data analysis abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Prior GPS and applicable natural science field experience a plus.

Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
Location: GB-Glasgow, UK-Glasgow. Schedule: Full-time. Travel: Yes, up to 25% of the time.
