Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Support Engineer to join our team at Heathrow Airport. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting in the management and delivery of implementation projects across the campus.

The successful candidate will have a clear knowledge and experience of delivering on-site IT infrastructure projects within challenging operational environments. They will also have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, and be highly organized with attention to detail.

The role will involve managing on-site implementation works, ensuring the Supervisor and Engineering Team are fully briefed and understand the works and safe working practices, and adequately supervising all works under their control.

The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and be able to demonstrate knowledge of safe working practices. They will also have a pro-active and collaborative approach to projects, with excellent teamwork skills.

We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate a clear understanding of the critical operational environment at Heathrow and has a strong track record of delivering projects on time and to budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage on-site implementation works
  • Ensure Supervisor and Engineering Team are fully briefed
  • Adequately supervise all works under control
  • Assist in contractor management
  • Quality assurance
  • Assist in writing Risk Assessments and Method statements
  • Collate job packs information
  • Identify and highlight H&S and implementation risks
  • Undertake operational inspection
  • Actively promote a positive health and safety culture

Requirements:

  • Clear knowledge and experience of delivering on-site IT infrastructure projects
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Strong working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Knowledge of safe working practices
  • Pro-active and collaborative approach to projects
  • Excellent teamwork skills

Desirable Qualifications:

  • SMSTS / SSSTS
  • ECS (network infrastructure or comms related)
  • Driving licence
