Elevation Recruitment Group is thrilled to be working with a fantastic business in the Barnsley area as they look to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant into their busy finance team.

  • The ideal candidate will have significant involvement in the weekly and monthly financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all reports.
  • They will also be responsible for improving Purchase Ledger Controls and standing data, streamlining processes to increase efficiency.
  • A strong analytical mind will be required to improve automated processes within finance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • The successful candidate will also manage the implementation of new systems and processes, driving change and innovation within the finance team.
  • Monthly tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be a key responsibility, providing insights into the company's performance and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Sales & margin analysis will also be a crucial aspect of the role, identifying trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Inventory analysis will require strong analytical skills, identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • The Assistant Management Accountant will also be responsible for carrying out ad hoc tasks as requested by the Financial Controller, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Liaising with internal and external customers and providing financial information and advice will be a key part of the role, building strong relationships and ensuring seamless communication.
  • Maintaining accurate records and preparing accounts and management information will be a critical responsibility, ensuring compliance and accuracy at all times.
  • Assisting with the preparation of accounts will require strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all submissions.
  • Monthly journal posting will also be a key responsibility, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.

Person Specification:

  • A self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to work to strict deadlines will be essential for this role.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills will be required to integrate within the finance team and build strong relationships with colleagues.
  • An assertive approach, able to communicate at all levels and in varying situations, will be necessary to succeed in this position.
  • Ability to set personal goals and ensure personal and team targets are being met will be critical to success.

We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits package including health insurance, pension scheme, and annual leave.
