Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Principal Rolling Stock Technical Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Structures Service Area, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality structural assessments and technical reports to clients. With a strong background in mechanical engineering and Finite Element analysis, you will work closely with our experts to provide technical support in rail projects. About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for managing resource, work packages, budgets, project, and commercial risks for the successful delivery of your own projects. You will also provide impartial reviews to other structural projects as an independent checker, ensuring a consistent and high level of quality across all our work. With a focus on rolling stock structural analysis, you will support our Structures Service Area Lead in delivering a wide portfolio of projects, including new build rolling stock and retrospective modifications to existing stock.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. You will have extensive engineering knowledge relating to engineering principles, Finite Element Analysis, materials, and manufacturing processes. Proficiency in using ANSYS Workbench or Altair HyperWorks, our key FE packages, or a comparable software package suitable for complex structural assessments is essential. Experience in developing convincing bids by producing cost estimates and project timescales, as well as experience of project management, including risk mitigation and project/financial planning, would be beneficial. Salary: £65,000 - £90,000 per year.
