Assistant Purchasing Manager

Reed is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Purchasing Manager to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for assisting the Purchasing Manager in guiding the team to meet company and project goals.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Purchasing Manager in developing and implementing procurement strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure optimal commercial terms.
  • Manage and analyze data to inform procurement decisions and drive cost savings.
  • Support the development and implementation of commodity strategies aligned with business goals.

Requirements:

  • Manufacturing sector experience
  • Previous experience in automotive preferred – OEM / Tier 1
  • CIPS membership or relevant business qualification desirable
  • Proficient in cost improvement techniques.
  • Positive contributor to new product launches.
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
