IMC Locums is seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to work within an acute hospital setting. This role involves providing high-quality physiotherapy services to patients with a wide range of acute medical and surgical conditions. You will be a key part of the multidisciplinary team, delivering care aimed at improving patient mobility, function, and facilitating safe discharge.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess, treat, and manage patients with acute medical and surgical conditions, including respiratory, acute medical, and acute admission cases.
• Develop and implement individualised treatment plans to enhance mobility, strength, and function.
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, and other therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
• Monitor and review patient progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary.
• Assist with discharge planning, ensuring patients are ready for a safe and timely discharge.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in line with professional and legal standards.
Requirements:
• Degree in Physiotherapy (BSc or equivalent).
• Full registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Previous experience working in an acute inpatient setting (NHS or private sector).
• Proficient in treating patients with respiratory, post-surgical, and other acute medical conditions.
• Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
• Previous experience in an acute hospital environment.
• Familiarity with NHS systems and clinical pathways.
• Experience in critical care, intensive care units (ICU), or high-dependency units (HDU)
