We are seeking highly motivated and experienced professionals to join our team as Teaching Fellows in Statistics at the University of Warwick.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning experiences for undergraduate students, with a range of degree programmes including BSc and Integrated Masters in Mathematics and Statistics, MORSE (Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics) and Data Science.
The successful candidates will have a leading involvement in delivering problem classes, tutorials and computer practicals, grading assignments and contributing to other teaching and learning activities such as personal tutoring, outreach and open days.
We are looking for individuals who possess a good honours degree in a relevant subject, possibly a PhD, and experience of teaching small groups. They will have a sound understanding of Statistics and Mathematics at first and second year University level, with ability to teach the use of relevant software packages and programming languages desirable.
Excellent planning, time management and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, facilitating effective learning and engaging with students during their learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- To deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences for undergraduate students
- To contribute to the development of teaching materials and resources
- To participate in departmental and university-wide initiatives to promote equality and diversity
- To engage with students, staff and external partners to support the delivery of the programme
Requirements:
- Good honours degree in a relevant subject, possibly a PhD
- Experience of teaching small groups
- Sound understanding of Statistics and Mathematics at first and second year University level
- Ability to teach the use of relevant software packages and programming languages desirable
Working Arrangements:
- Full-time, fixed-term contract for 1 year
- 20% of time allocated to personal professional development
Salary: £40,927 - £51,000 per annum, depending on experience.
