Rainham Steel, a leading UK steel stockholder, is seeking a skilled Yard Operative to join our team at our Rainham, Essex depot.
Key Responsibilities- Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will be responsible for covering all aspects of our busy stock yard.
- You will serve customers, advise on stock availability and product ranges, and load and unload HGV vehicles.
- Maintaining a tidy and safe working environment is crucial, as well as operating Overhead Cranes and driving Fork trucks or Side Loaders.
- You will be physically able to cope with reasonable manual handling, working in all kinds of weather, and being on feet/walking for the majority of the day.
- Flexible to do paid overtime when necessary, with basic working hours of 7am - 4.30pm, 42.5 hours per week.
- Outstanding attention to detail and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Organised and motivated, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, pressurised environment and have a good command of the English language.
