**Manufacturing / Assembly Technician**
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing / Assembly Technician to join our team at Wymbs Engineering Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the assembly and finishing of complex machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the workshop supervisor to prepare machined and purchased components for assembly.
- Assemble multiple part assemblies and ensure high-quality finishes.
- Perform benchwork, deburring, and grinding of machined components.
- Assist in the testing and commissioning of finished machines.
- Support the running of in-house product trials and ensure accurate documentation.
- Package and ship machines or spare parts as required.
- Contribute to the management of material flow through the workshop.
- Document processes and record time and costs taken.
- Conduct quality checks on components and report any defects or assembly issues to the shop foreman.
- Perform general workshop housekeeping duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Prior experience working in a similar environment and a strong understanding of engineering drawings and solid models.
- Experience in rotating machinery assembly, including bearings, power transmission, and conveyor systems.
- Knowledge of pumps and motor/gearbox set-ups.
- Ability to assemble close-fitting and tight-tolerance machined components.
- Time-served and educated to NVQ level 3 or HNC in an engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
