Internal Environment Sales Professional

**Job Overview:**
We are seeking an experienced Internal Environment Sales Professional to join our team at Avantor. This role will be responsible for increasing revenue and profit by supporting field-based Product Specialists and Account Management Teams in achieving sales & margin targets for VWR UK Critical Environment & Safety business.
Main Responsibilities:
- Consistently achieve IOP for sales and margin in our Critical Environment & Safety portfolio
- Proactive selling of product ranges, including cross-selling other products and services
- Provide technical product support to customers and VWR colleagues
- Create, negotiate, and follow up quotations
- Source new products and manage the market source/TPP workflow
- Participate in tenders and large product lists for quotation, finding products and answering technical requirements
- Establish relationships with suppliers to ensure best technical and price support for VWR
- Provide Manager with up-to-date reports on sales activities and issues
- Send samples when requested from customers or through quotations or tenders
- Order, register, and follow up demo products according to the demo unit management process
- Send out catalogues, brochures, promotions, and manage through Athena
- Liaise with local, Regional & Global counterparts within the Critical Environment & Safety business teams and marketing teams
- Participate in supplier trainings and meetings
- Develop and follow up on ZPSP request opportunities with suppliers and the internal ZPSP workflow
- Create and follow up new product code set up via ZMMDESEIGN
- Support the sales teams with marketing campaigns
- Monitor competitors and market trends within dedicated product portfolios and build market intelligence
- Participate in customer visits, exhibitions, events, and other marketing activities (4-5 times a year)
- Support your manager in developing sales forecasts for your portfolio of products as required
- Update all relevant customer interactions on our CRM system C4C
- Regular communication with the local sales organisation, highlighting the performance of the product portfolio
- In conjunction with Manager, set own goals and take ownership of same as per VWR PMP process
- Participation in local sales training and meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Degree-level qualification essential (Science and/or Business discipline)
- Previous external/internal sales experience preferred but not essential
- Proven track record in achieving targets preferred but not essential
About You:
- Good product knowledge, ability to learn quickly, and maintain updated knowledge of products and market
- Self-motivated, focused, and driven individual who can handle rejection positively
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong commercial understanding and knowledge of the market, competition within, pricing, and discount structures
- Passion for liaising with internal and external customers and suppliers/manufacturers, a strong team player
- In-depth knowledge of procurement, both strategically and operationally, sourcing, market analysis, cost analysis, contract negotiation, and supplier performance level service agreements/performance metrics
- Keen awareness of profitability metrics and steps to maximise same
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking capabilities
- Self-starter, proactive individual, works on own initiative with minimal supervision
- Confident in own decision-making abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team player, can deputise for colleagues when required
- IT Literate, proficient in the use of SAP, C4C, QlikView, and MS Office applications
Estimated Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 per annum
