Trauma Support Specialist

In partnership with Remedy Education, a Specialist Secondary School in Greenwich seeks an ambitious Psychology or Criminology graduate to join their support team. As a recent graduate, this role offers the perfect opportunity to build experience working with children who require mental health support.
This is an ideal position for someone who is passionate about mental health and wishes to become a trained Psychologist in the future. The students at this school come from diverse backgrounds, facing challenges related to trauma, neglect, attachment issues, and anxiety. They require support to manage their emotions in a healthy manner, enabling them to regulate and process their feelings independently.
Your daily duties as a Teaching Assistant will involve collaborating with the class teacher and other experienced staff members to educate pupils. You will help manage challenging behaviours that arise, work one-to-one to ensure pupils are on task, and identify potential triggers for pupils' trauma and mental health needs.
The ideal candidate will be proactive and friendly, with a genuine interest in supporting children with psychological needs. Any previous experience working with children and/or adults with additional needs would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the class teacher to educate pupils.
- Manage challenging behaviours and provide one-to-one support.
- Identify potential triggers for pupils' trauma and mental health needs.
Requirements:
- Recent Psychology or Criminology graduate.
- Passion for mental health and supporting children with psychological needs.
- Previous experience working with children and/or adults with additional needs (desired).
Salary: £90 - £105 per day.
