Opportunity Overview

NHS is seeking an experienced Clinical Haematology Specialist Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy services to patients.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day clinical pharmacy services to the haematology directorate. This will involve working closely with the haematology team to provide specialist advice and ensure safe and timely supply of medications to inpatients, outpatients, and the chemotherapy day unit.

Main Responsibilities

  • To provide specialist clinical pharmacy services to the haematology directorate, including advising on medication usage and ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and legislation.
  • To work closely with the haematology team to provide training, mentoring, and supervision of pharmacy staff.
  • To participate in the provision of training and education to other healthcare professionals on haematology-related topics.
  • To assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to haematology pharmacy services.
  • To contribute to the maintenance of a low-risk rating for the aseptic unit by implementing quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in pharmacy and registration as a practising pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Recent experience of working as a UK hospital pharmacist (Band 6 or above).
  • Experience of working within Technical Services and an aseptic compounding cleanroom facility subject to GMP compliance and related regulatory quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a busy team environment.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including a pension scheme, annual leave, and professional development opportunities.
