Job Description

As a key member of the oilandgas team, the Strategic Lead Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the company's success by leading or contributing to strategic projects sponsored by the UK CEO and Board. This role requires a strong understanding of business strategy and the ability to align initiatives with the company's long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Project Leadership: Lead or contribute to strategic projects sponsored by the CEO and UK Board members, ensuring effective communication and implementation of strategies.
  • Business Development: Support the Head of UK Strategy in developing the UK's business strategy, identifying key topics, and communicating insights effectively.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including the UK CEO, Board, and line-of-business strategy teams, to drive business growth and success.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze external trends, economic conditions, competitor performance, and growth opportunities, particularly in untapped areas of the energy value chain.
  • Financial Acumen: Provide expertise on financial analysis and produce high-quality senior communications, including business plans and investment cases.
  • Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams without direct authority, managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Continuously develop strategy skills and foster knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience in a strategy function, with a proven track record of developing business strategies with senior stakeholders.
  • Education: Degree-level education, preferably in a numerate discipline.
  • Skills: Strong commercial, financial, and entrepreneurial acumen, excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, and strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
