We are seeking a highly experienced Data Protection Specialist to support our consumer goods and retail business in the development of their data protection frameworks.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified lawyer with at least 8 years post-qualification experience to join our team as a Privacy Law Expert. The successful candidate will have significant international exposure and will advise on privacy challenges in multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the business to implement their data protection initiatives, which will include running cadence calls and being responsible for allocated business units.
  • Provide timely, accurate, quality legal advice, on all aspects of data protection, to various business units based in the UK and the wider EMEA region.
  • Assessing and advising on compliance gaps; advising on incidents and data breaches, data subject access requests and data retention; reviewing data protection impact assessments; and advising on internal transfers compliance.
  • Maintaining a regular dialogue and building strong relationships with Data Protection Co-ordinators across the group by playing an active part when the business implements solutions and help them to drive compliance on all areas of data protection.

About you:

  • A UK (or comparable jurisdiction) qualified lawyer with at least 8 years post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in retail or FMCG is highly desirable.
  • Accredited Data Privacy Professional (highly desirable).
  • A good understanding of Data Privacy law is essential.
  • Experience at top law firm and/or previous in-house experience an advantage.
  • Organised, self-motivated, and conscientious.
  • High level of interpersonal and communicational skills.
  • High level of integrity, resilience, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to operate proactively and independently.
  • Extremely professional: calm under pressure, clear thinking, well organised, proactive and grasps concepts quickly.

Salary: £120,000 - £150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
