About the Role:

Our secondary school in Durham is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Science Teacher to lead our students on an extraordinary journey of scientific discovery.

In this long-term supply position, you will have the opportunity to share your love for science and inspire the next generation of scientists, thinkers, and innovators.

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging Science lessons that cater to the needs of all students.

  1. Design and implement Science curricula that align with national standards
  2. Foster a culture of inquiry and exploration, encouraging students to ask questions and seek answers
  3. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth
  4. Build a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student participation and engagement
  5. Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching resources and strategies
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  1. Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  2. Demonstrate specialization in Science, with a strong understanding of Physics, Chemistry, or Biology
  3. Exhibit a genuine passion for science education and an infectious enthusiasm for the subject
  4. Possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, colleagues, and parents
  5. Show proven ability to create an inspiring learning environment that supports students' academic growth
  6. Demonstrate adaptability and creativity in tailoring teaching methods to meet students' diverse needs
