An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join our Scotland Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team as an Assistant Manager, based in our Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Being one of the main points of contact on a portfolio of clients on day-to-day tax matters, working primarily with our Managers and our Senior Manager.
  • Supporting the delivery of UK corporation tax compliance services.
  • Supporting tax advisory projects by providing UK corporation tax input, based on experience and researching topics, and by working with other areas of tax and our overseas member firms to incorporate their input into our advice.
  • Ensuring our clients are kept up to date with emerging corporate and wider tax developments impacting their business.
  • Assisting in the delivery of tax reporting and tax audit work.
  • Supervising the work of junior members of staff and providing coaching to support their development.
  • Assisting our Managers and Senior Managers with client account management, including complying with appropriate quality and risk management procedures and financial management.
  • Supporting leadership with business development opportunities.

The role would involve a mixture of tax compliance, reporting, and advisory work, with flexibility around the weighting of time to these different components based on your experience and areas of interest.

Requirements:

  • UK corporation tax experience.
  • Analyses problems, identifies core issues, investigates, evaluates, and integrates information.
  • Continuously learns from experiences, seeking out feedback and development opportunities.
  • Works in a cooperative, respectful manner with colleagues, clients, and the wider community.
  • Builds the reputation of KPMG through the quality of work, knowledge, and experience.
