Air Freight Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Air Freight Coordinator to join our team at ALPI UK. As an Air Freight Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in coordinating air freight activities for our company.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate with network partners and UK clients to arrange bookings for shipments from origin to destination countries.
  2. Develop a basic understanding of INCOTERMS and their associated risks and liabilities.
  3. Quote shipments prior to movement and apply agreed rates as necessary.
  4. Communicate with partners to obtain quotes and rates.
  5. Ensure that all air import/export jobs are completed accurately and on time.
  6. Manage customs declaration tasks efficiently and effectively.
  7. Report any amendments to customs declarations to the line manager immediately.
  8. Utilize the operational system correctly and maintain its integrity.
  9. Assist other departments as required and provide support and holiday coverage for local staff.
  10. Maintain regular communication with the network and sales team.
  11. Propose new efficiencies in customer workflow and liaise with HMRC to maintain customs procedures.
  12. Ensure all reports are completed on time and in accordance with provided deadlines.
  13. Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) at all times.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the Freight Forwarding sector with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of Import/Export multimodal business.
  • Proficiency in Air Freight sales and products.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages, particularly Ms Excel, and general PC knowledge.
  • Good understanding of logistics processes and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload with attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible working hours.
