**Academic Support Staff Job:** Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a graduate student or recent graduate with a passion for education to join our team as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at a large Primary School in Folkestone. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a classroom setting and develop their teaching skills.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to teachers and pupils in the KS2 classes. Your main duties will include assisting with lesson planning, preparing resources, and supervising pupils during lessons. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with teachers to identify areas where pupils need extra support and develop strategies to help them improve.

This role would be ideal for someone who is looking for a career in teaching and wants to gain valuable experience in a primary school setting. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of the children and contribute to their academic and personal growth.

About the Role:

  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and preparation
  • Supervise pupils during lessons and provide additional support as needed
  • Prepare resources and materials for lessons
  • Work closely with teachers to identify areas where pupils need extra support
  • Develop strategies to help pupils improve their learning

Requirements:

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent NVQ Level 2
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a primary school setting
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Knowledge of the KS2 Curriculum
