About the Job
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Catering Assistant/Cook to join our team at Trimley St Martin Primary School in Suffolk. This is a 16 hour part-time position working 12.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with term-time only hours.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will assist the Head of Kitchen in planning, preparing, and cooking meals, as well as maintaining high levels of hygiene and cleanliness. They will also support with meal preparation, serving, and maintaining food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Kitchen in meal preparation, serving, and maintaining food safety standards.
- Uphold high levels of hygiene and cleanliness, including setting up service areas and tidying away after service.
- Support with ordering and controlling stock, monitoring and recording meals produced, and keeping up with legislative changes.
Requirements
- Previous experience and qualifications in catering or a related field (although on-the-job training can be provided).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to undertake additional hours if required.
Salary and Benefits
- A competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
