Nursery Leadership Opportunity

Job Type: Full-time, 8.30am - 4.30pm

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Manager to lead our College nursery and provide professional leadership and management. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic development and implementation of high-quality early years education and care, ensuring the nursery contributes strongly towards the College's aims.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the nursery in compliance with early years' legislation, DofE, and Ofsted requirements.
  2. Act as the designated safeguarding officer and contribute to the cross-college safeguarding committee.
  3. Oversee Special Education Needs coordination and promote inclusive practices.
  4. Maintain professional relationships with local authority departments, regulatory bodies, and other agencies.
  5. Manage recruitment, training, and development of nursery staff.
  6. Implement nursery policies and procedures, ensuring professional standards are upheld.
  7. Administer nursery records, manage invoicing, fee collection, and budgeting to ensure sustainability.
  8. Collaborate with the marketing department to develop materials that promote the nursery.
Requirements:
  1. Relevant degree level qualification or significant experience in a Nursery setting.
  2. Proven management and leadership experience in nursery settings.
  3. Excellent knowledge of the current Early Years framework and child development.
  4. Sound knowledge of legislation, regulations, and Ofsted guidance.
  5. Experience supporting children with special education needs and disabilities.
  6. Strong organisational and planning skills, able to work independently to tight deadlines.
  7. Effective interpersonal skills, able to relate positively to parents, staff, students, and external agencies.
  8. Experience managing budgets and knowledge of funding within PVI settings.
  9. Proficient IT skills relevant to the role (e.g., Excel, Word).
