Job Title: Armourer

At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As an Armourer, you'll play a crucial role in our team, stripping, overhauling, and assembling specialist equipment at our Bovington site.

The Role

As an Armourer, you'll be responsible for providing support and general maintenance of equipment within the Armoury. Your key tasks will include:

  • Carrying out work to the required standard and specification as detailed on the job card, in accordance with customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, and processes.
  • Diagnosing, inspecting, and assessing weapon systems, vehicles, and associated mechanical, electrical, and armour equipment.
  • Ensuring all job transactions are accurately recorded and carried out in accordance with current processes.
  • Completing vehicle and equipment documentation, test certificates, and reports to current standards.
  • Ensuring stores and equipment issued to the job are used for their correct purpose and unused or new faulty material is returned to the section or department supervisor.

This position involves manual work, which may include lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods.

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, and is based on site at Bovington.

Essential Experience

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Competent PC user skills, including MS Office, MS Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work on your own initiative to assist in the delivery of site objectives.

Qualifications

You'll need:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or an apprenticeship qualification.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
