Job Title: Night Shift Hygiene Manager

GBR Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a leading food manufacturing company to recruit an experienced Night Shift Hygiene Manager to lead a team of hygiene operatives and team leaders on a Monday to Friday shift pattern.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Night Shift Hygiene Manager to lead the night shift hygiene team in carrying out hygiene best practices and deep cleaning across six manufacturing lines. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading audits, managing hygiene-related tasks, and ensuring high-end food safety and integrity is maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mentor and develop the hygiene team to achieve excellence
  • Manage the hygiene cleaning schedule, working closely with production to minimize machinery downtime
  • Delegate work to hygiene operatives and manage investigations into hygiene-related non-conformances
  • Manage cleaning of all factory equipment, including cooking tins, racks, and frames
  • Update the Holchem Platform and manage all CICs
  • Support production shift managers with non-conformance investigations
  • Closely monitor and manage chemicals and hygiene consumables on site
  • Manage COSHH for the site, including maintenance of chemical lists and SDSs
  • Actively support the operations team during customer visits and audits
  • Maintain hygiene traceability documentation and present it to customers and auditors
  • Investigate and resolve hygiene-related downtime issues
  • Provide hands-on support to the hygiene team to ensure tasks are completed on time and to a high standard
  • Manage staff holidays and absence
  • Complete gap analysis for staff training
  • Plan and manage staff training and L&D
  • Manage staff performance
  • Pest control contractor management
Requirements:
  • Level 3 qualified in Food Safety and HACCP
  • Knowledge of HACCP, COSHH, cleaning chemicals, pest control, and current food safety regulations
  • Experienced hygiene supervisor or manager in the food industry
  • High-risk experience desired
  • Strong management skills
  • Hands-on, mentor, coach, and leader of others
  • Flexible with working hours and patterns
