We are seeking an experienced Strategic Counter Fraud Leader to join our team at Companies House. As a key member of our Security Leadership Team, you will be responsible for leading our counter-fraud strategy and implementing effective measures to mitigate fraud, bribery, and corruption risks.
About the Role:
- Develop and Implement Counter-Fraud Strategy: Design and execute a comprehensive counter-fraud strategy that aligns with Companies House objectives, covering internal and external fraud, bribery, and corruption.
- Risk Management: Lead fraud risk assessments and develop action plans across the organisation, ensuring the development and ownership of effective fraud risk controls and mitigation strategies.
- Collaboration and Oversight: Work closely with Operational and Security colleagues, as well as People, Finance, and Intelligence teams, to ensure thorough, professional, and ethical investigations.
- Policy Development and Training: Develop and implement policies and procedures supporting a zero-tolerance approach to fraud, bribery, and corruption, and deliver targeted training programs to raise awareness among staff.
- Reporting and Compliance: Establish effective reporting mechanisms for fraud and error incidents, monitor trends, and work with Data, Digital, Finance, Operations, and HR colleagues to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory standards.
About You:
- Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience in counter-fraud, bribery, or corruption roles, developing comprehensive counter-fraud strategies.
- Fraud Risk Expertise: In-depth understanding of best practices in fraud, bribery, and corruption investigations, including ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Communication and Influence: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Commitment to regular review and enhancement of the counter-fraud strategy, policies, and procedures to reflect emerging risks, trends, and innovations in fraud prevention.

- Salary: An attractive salary of £53,988, plus a contribution towards your membership in the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
