We are seeking a skilled Process Development Scientist to join our innovative team in London. As a key member of our R&D team, you will focus on developing bio-based materials and scaling their production.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Process Development: Apply expertise in process development and high-throughput methods to create regenerative materials and optimize processes from lab to industrial scale.
- Data Analysis: Interpret data and provide recommendations for product and process improvements.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure project success.
To succeed in this role, you will need a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field and either a PhD in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry with 2+ years of industry experience, or 5+ years of direct industry experience without a PhD.
Experience in process development, optimization, and scaling from lab to production is critical, as well as proficiency in quantitative research methods, high-throughput experimentation, and Design of Experiments (DOE). Experience in converting waste and renewable ingredients into materials—using skills such as biomass pre-treatment, pulp breakdown, and purification—is highly valued.
This role is based full-time in Bermondsey, with a competitive salary and an 18-month fixed-term contract with the likelihood to extend beyond this.
