Job Title: Health and Safety Apprenticeship

Irwin M&E Limited is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Health and Safety Apprenticeship. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in the construction industry.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist the Health and Safety team in completing daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork and administration of the IMS system. They will also maintain and manage the SHEQ control system, assist in developing and reviewing health and safety management systems, and ensure all company compliances are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Health and Safety team in completing daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork and administration of the IMS system.
  • Maintain and manage the SHEQ control system.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing health and safety management systems.
  • Ensure all company compliances are adhered to.
  • Maintain accurate records, analyze relevant health and safety data, and compile reports in relation to company objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Review site safety audits from both the Health and Safety and site management teams.
  • Collate and maintain information and the audit matrix to a high standard, as well as documenting any non-conformances and update corrective actions.
  • Encourage the reporting of hazards and incidents/accidents.
  • Attend internal Health and Safety meetings with the SHEQ team.
  • Assist the SHEQ team in carrying out site inspections and hazard identification.
Requirements:
  • 5 GCSEs with Maths and English.
  • Eager to develop competency and qualifications in HSE.
  • Able to demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Good understanding of Office computer applications.
  • Ability to present and deliver information to others at all levels.
  • Influencing skills.
  • Communication skills.
  • Flexible approach to change.
  • Cross-functional interaction.
  • Coaching skills.
  • Ability and drive to complete Nebosh qualification.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Able to travel to other locations with occasional overnight stays or providing team cover.
