About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Eating Disorders Service as part of the team providing community treatment for individuals with eating disorders. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a new Trust-wide outpatient service for adult patients with eating disorders and their carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychological assessments, including risk assessment and monitoring, formulation, planning, and implementation of individual and group interventions
  • Provide consultancy and supervision to staff in mental health services
  • Teach and train staff on relevant topics
  • Conduct service audits and evaluations, including research and guidance on relevant projects
Person Specification
  • Qualified Clinical Psychologist (eligible for Chartered Psychologist status)
  • Training in assessment and treatment of eating disorders patients
Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to assess general mental health and psychopathology, including personality disorder
  • Ability to assess and manage psychiatric risk associated with self-harm
  • Knowledge of eating disorder patients and awareness of NICE guidelines for assessment and treatment
  • Ability to assess eating disorder symptoms and recognition of potential medical complications
Experience
  • Experience of working with patients with eating disorders
  • Experience of group-based treatments
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
