Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Risk and Control Specialist to join our team at the Illinois CPA Society.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to leverage their expertise in risk management, control assessment, and governance to drive business success.

As a Financial Services Risk and Control Specialist, you will be responsible for undertaking periodic product and thematic reviews across the Investment Bank, challenging control design and control operating effectiveness.

You will develop productive working relationships with senior Front Office management to ensure they understand their risks and have controls and processes in place to manage those risks.

Your role will also involve challenging the completion of operational risk and control self-assessments.

In addition, you will review how issues identified are resolved and whether actions taken are suitable and sustainably implemented.

Key Requirements
  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of Markets (traded products) and Investment Banking products within a major financial institution
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: front office supervisor role, COO role, internal audit, operational risk management or related disciplines in the financial services industry
  • Negotiation and influence skills with senior stakeholders
  • Good organization, planning, and project management abilities
  • Full understanding of key market, credit, and operational risks operating across each main asset class in a major trading floor and IBD business

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
