Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Vocational Tutor to join our team. As a Vocational Tutor, you will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality training that caters to the needs of students.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Create and implement effective curricula that meet the needs of students.
- Training Delivery: Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions that promote student learning and achievement.
- Student Support: Provide ongoing support to students to ensure they receive the right level of support.
- Health and Safety: Ensure a safe learning environment by managing evacuations and following health and safety protocols.
- Assignment Assistance: Assist students in preparing for assignments and exams to maintain high success rates.
- Assessment and Feedback: Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and set goals for student development.
- Programme Leadership: Lead specific award programmes, overseeing admissions, tutor resources, exam board representation, mark uploading, and programme evaluation (for HE tutors only).
About You:
- You should have excellent IT skills, including the ability to utilize digital tools to enhance learning.
- You must be a highly motivated and inspiring individual who can motivate students to succeed.
- You need to be adaptable and flexible in your approach.
- You require exceptional communication skills to engage with students and colleagues.
- You should be able to manage your workload efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- You need to hold a PGCE, PGDE, Cert Ed, DTLLS (and subject specialisms where necessary).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- You should have relevant industry experience in a specialist area.
- You must have a solid understanding of teaching quality standards, particularly Ofsted.
- You need a minimum of 1-2 years' teaching experience.
- You should have expertise in supporting students with special needs, such as LLDD and challenging behavior.
- You need current knowledge of the specialist subject area and relevant professional qualifications.
- You must possess a teaching qualification.
- You should be familiar with health and safety regulations and procedures, including emergency evacuation protocols.
