Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Totum Partners, the Chief Financial & Operating Officer's (CFOO) primary responsibilities are to direct and oversee the operation and financial management of the firm. The CFOO will join the Management Committee (MC) and as a member of the professional management team, advise and make recommendations to the MC on key operational decisions and then, in partnership with the CEO, lead and implement such decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
- Lead and manage the financial management team to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the CEO to develop and implement key operational decisions.
- Provide guidance and support to the Management Committee on key operational matters.
Requirements:
- A track record of success in the leadership and management of organisations.
- A track record in developing organisational performance through the development of people.
- An understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing firms in the legal services market.
- Previous experience of working in a Solicitor Accounting Rules environment and an understanding of maintaining regulatory compliance within the rules.
Skills and Competencies:
- Demonstrable financial and business acumen.
- Effective leadership skills, capable of inspiring confidence and action in teams and individuals at all levels, communicating strategic priorities in a way that makes them actionable by others.
- Skilled strategic and analytical thinker.
- Proven self-starter, able to create momentum and to sustain it in a self-managed way.
- Strong communicator, verbally and in writing, comfortable operating in ambiguous circumstances to create clarity, consensus and action.
- Exceptional relationship development skills, demonstrating emotional intelligence and self-awareness to get the best out of themselves and others.
- Breadth of understanding across the range of technical and management disciplines which the post-holder is required to lead.
- The ability to lead and thrive within an organisational culture characterised by individual responsibility and collective achievement, displaying the humility required by leaders in this environment.
