About the Role

Kier Professional Services (KPS) is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our team in Loughton, London. As a key member of our engineering consultancy division, you will play a crucial role in delivering design solutions, technical advice, and engineering support to our business units.

We are a leading provider of Temporary Works design services, with a portfolio of over 2,000 designs per year. Our team of 100+ Temporary Works engineers has extensive experience in designing and checking Temporary Works for projects of all sizes and across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and check Permanent and Temporary Works above and below ground, integrating with Permanent Works design as necessary.
  • Develop alternative solutions and value engineering to enhance Kier's reputation and competitive position.
  • Support tender stage and bid-winning activities, focusing on buildability, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Manage and mentor junior KPS team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Collaborate with project teams to deliver a broad range of civil and structural services, including Temporary and Permanent Works.
