About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Animal Care Teacher to join our team at a therapeutic specialist provision for boys and girls with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEN and experience working with students with SEN.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Animal Care lessons to students with varying needs and abilities.
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their development.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement individualized education plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Work effectively with a range of animals, including horses, donkeys, sheep, llamas, and chickens, to provide a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching Animal Care lessons to students with SEN.
  • Strong understanding of SEN and experience working with students with SEN.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Team Teach certification is preferred but not essential.
