Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Assistant Psychologist to join our dynamic service in adult mental health for people who live in Dartford, Gravesend, and Swanley. The post holder will be based at Arndale House, within the DGS Psychological Therapies service, which includes psychological clinicians of several disciplines. The DGS Psychological Therapies service works closely and in collaboration with the DGS Community Mental Health team as integrated services to provide a comprehensive service to adults with complex and longstanding mental health conditions and emotional difficulties. The successful candidate will participate in the provision of direct clinical work through the delivery of manualized psychologically informed structured interventions as part of Psychological Services to adults with mental health difficulties within the community & recovery service line of Kent & Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust. Key responsibilities include delivering 'initial interventions' to people accessing adult mental health services as part of the Clinical Care Pathways in the CMHT, undertaking clinical and service performance-related administration, audit, and research projects, teaching, and service improvement project work under the professional guidance of a qualified psychologist. The post also involves overseeing the clinical outcomes project for psychological therapies across the North Kent directorate. The High-Cost Area (HCA) allowance, also referred to as London Weighting, is a payment made to employees who work in London and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will receive training in the delivery of the CBT informed intervention known as 'Initial Interventions' delivered by a group of specialist psychological practitioners. They will also deliver the CBT informed interventions to a range of adults accessing Secondary Care Mental Health Services under the direct responsibility and clinical supervision of experienced Psychological Practitioners. The post holder will receive and participate in weekly clinical supervision around all clinical work, and provide psychological guidance and support to carers and families of service users under clinical supervision of a qualified psychologist.
