The Emerald Group is a leading company in the actuarial field, and we are seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Quantitative Analyst to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Actuarial Quantitative Analyst to work closely with key stakeholders around the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in actuarial science and be proficient in using stochastic mortality models to fit and project aggregate trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update best estimate mortality trend assumptions across a range of countries and territories in Europe, North America, Asia, and the Pacific.
  • Contribute to the ongoing calibration of the divisional economic capital model by developing and updating stressed mortality trend assumptions for the purposes of capital adequacy across a range of countries and territories.
  • Expand knowledge of actuarial and statistical methods for trend projection and data analysis and contribute to knowledge sharing internally, to ensure The Company maintains a high level of technical knowledge in respect of mortality, morbidity, and longevity risk.
  • Contribute to wider research initiatives such as thought leadership articles and building relationships with academia.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Actuary with a minimum of two years' experience in life (re)insurance.
  • Strong analytic and statistical skills, including familiarity with generalized linear modeling.
  • Experience with R statistical programming language, and familiarity with Excel, SQL.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
