Salary : From £27,797 per annum

Location: Edinburgh

We are seeking a full-time, Level 3 qualified Childcare Room Supervisor to join our Bright Horizons Elsie Inglis.

Our Bright Horizons Elsie Inglis is centrally located in Edinburgh, easily accessible by public transport and with on-site parking available.

The nursery accommodates 65 children and is housed in a single-storey building that was once the Elsie Inglis Memorial Maternity Hospital, adjacent to Holyrood Park.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team to provide outstanding care and education
  • Ensure the learning environment is consistently stimulating and engaging for children, both indoors and outdoors
  • Plan and deliver enriching learning experiences and exceptional care to support each child's development and milestones
  • Foster and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to meet the unique needs of each child
  • Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety, and safeguarding
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a positive, safe, and enjoyable environment

What we're looking for

  • Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential)
  • Previous experience in an Early Years setting, ideally as a Room Leader, Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, or similar
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the legislative requirements for working with children
  • Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with colleagues and parents
  • Proficiency in using various communication techniques with both children and adults
