Job Summary

Room Makers is seeking a skilled Furniture Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our cabinetry department, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality, custom-made furniture for residential and commercial clients across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Cabinet Making and Joinery:
  • Learn and develop skills in cutting, shaping, and assembling wood and other materials to create bespoke cabinetry.
  • Assist in the construction of custom-built cabinets, wardrobes, shelves, and other furniture pieces.
Material Selection and Preparation:
  • Prepare and process materials for use in cabinetry projects, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Finishing and Assembly:
  • Learn techniques for sanding and finishing cabinetry to achieve a high-quality, durable finish.
Maintain a Safe and Organised Workshop:
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Keep the workshop clean, organised, and well-maintained, ensuring tools and equipment are stored correctly.
Continuous Learning and Development:
  • Actively participate in training and development opportunities to enhance joinery skills and knowledge.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, techniques, and best practices in cabinetry and joinery.

Requirements

  • Live in the area or able to commute to Blackpool FY2 easily.
  • No formal qualifications are required; however, a keen interest in joinery, woodworking, and cabinetry is essential.
  • Strong practical skills and the ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
  • Good mathematical skills for accurate measuring and cutting.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
  • A positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
