About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Integrated Occupational and Physiotherapy team as a Rehabilitation Assistant. This full-time position will be based in the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Therapy service at Ipswich Hospital.

The successful candidate will provide support to Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in the delivery of outpatient rehabilitation services, including exercise classes and hydrotherapy. Under direct guidance from qualified therapists and with appropriate training, the post holder will facilitate and implement rehabilitation and assist in equipment assessment and provision.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide support to registered therapists in providing therapy interventions to patients in various settings.
  • Assist in the provision of equipment, including ordering and delivery via a computer system on behalf of therapists.
  • Support therapy staff with patient-related administrative duties.
  • Assist in stock control.
  • Use a person-centred approach to therapeutic activities with patients, following guidelines and protocols promoting independence.

Person Specification

  • Experience of working with members of the public.
  • Relevant life skills gained through work or personal experience.
  • Desirable: experience of working in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy, the health and fitness sector, or at least 2 years relevant employment or voluntary work within health, fitness, social care, or community care.

Qualifications

  • Secondary education.
  • Numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Desirable: relevant NVQ level III or equivalent.
