About the Role

Mach Recruitment Ltd is seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods to various locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle to transport goods to and from different locations.
  • Follow all traffic and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups.
  • Plan delivery schedules and routes with transport managers.
  • Supervise or assist with the loading and unloading of goods.
  • Ensure loads are safely secured.
  • Adapt routes based on traffic reports and road conditions.
  • Complete delivery paperwork and keep up-to-date logbooks.
  • Perform basic routine maintenance, such as oil, tyre, and brake checks.
Requirements
  • Holds a valid C+E licence, along with DCPC and Tacho cards.
  • Knowledgeable about and compliant with Drivers hours and Working Time Directive (WTD) legislation.
  • Capable of performing thorough vehicle checks to ensure safety and accurately reporting any defects.
  • Adhere to on-site health and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
