We are seeking an exceptional educator to join our team as an Assistant Subject Leader, responsible for providing strong leadership to support the development of the subject area across the Academy.
Key Responsibilities:- Set high expectations for standards of teaching and learning and model excellent practice
- Promote the building and sharing of good practice
- Ensure the consistent application of teaching and learning strategies that meet the needs of all learners
- Develop and evaluate specifications and learning maps, ensuring their effective implementation
- Lead curriculum masterclasses to support subject knowledge development and pedagogy
- Monitor and evaluate standards of teaching and learning through classroom observation and student feedback
- Oversee effective assessment, recording, and reporting of pupil progress
- Collect, analyze, and report performance data to inform teaching and learning
- Collaborate with the Subject Leader to develop and update the subject development plan
- Create a stimulating learning environment that promotes the subject's identity and contribution to the Academy curriculum
- Stay abreast of national developments in the subject area and apply relevant insights
- Support the training and development of staff, including mentoring trainees
- Be an outstanding teacher with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Have evidence of supporting or training colleagues and working with students beyond their teaching group
- Be knowledgeable about current educational issues, legislation, and the Academy's context
- Be a team player with an unshakable belief in every student's potential for success
- Have the ability to hold people to account in a fair, emotionally intelligent, and rigorous manner
- Be endlessly positive and optimistic, with a solution-focused approach
