Senior Procurement Specialist

ACS Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our rapidly growing team. This exciting opportunity involves supporting the contracts team, taking responsibility for large-scale schemes and customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Tender Management: Participate in tender handover meetings, review material quotations, data sheets, and tenders to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on time.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and support the buying team, ensuring best practices are followed and shared to maintain a high level of procurement excellence.
- Material Approvals: Handle material approvals and resolve technical queries to ensure seamless project execution.
- Stock and Purchasing: Review stock and purchase materials for larger schemes and customers, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
- Delivery Coordination: Organize deliveries of materials with Contracts Managers, confirming locations, timeframes, and budgets to ensure smooth project progression.
- Supplier Management: Identify opportunities for new suppliers to maximize value, improve coverage, and reduce lead times, negotiating supplier terms, including pricing, rebates, and delivery charges.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Develop and report key buying metrics, preparing dashboards and graphs to show trends and inform procurement decisions.
- Stock Management: Contribute to the development of a robust stock management system, ensuring efficient inventory control and minimizing stockouts.
- Site Visits: Visit other depots and offices as needed to review procurement requirements and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Experience: At least five years of experience in construction procurement, with a strong understanding of LEAN principles and process implementation.
- Negotiation and Technical Skills: Strong negotiation skills and technical knowledge or aptitude for construction, with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and confidence in managing multiple deadlines, with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
