Head of SOC Job Description

Robert Walters is partnering with a leading technology solutions business in the UK to find a Head of SOC to lead their Security Operations Centre (SOC) team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the company's cybersecurity strategy, mentoring and managing a UK-wide SOC team, and enhancing threat detection capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy
  • Mentor and manage a team of cybersecurity professionals
  • Enhance threat detection capabilities through the use of advanced technologies
  • Design and implement streamlined processes and optimize automations
  • Monitor and analyze security events to coordinate effective responses
  • Mitigate vulnerabilities and improve incident response times
  • Manage and optimize SIEM and SOAR platforms
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity processes and documentation
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a technical team manager
  • Cybersecurity expertise with a deep understanding of best practices
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate with both technical and non-technical staff
  • Experience with SOC operations and SIEM/SOAR tools
  • Technical security controls knowledge, including firewalls, IPS, endpoint security, web and email filtering, and network security logging

This is a home-based role with a salary up to £85,000 plus package. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a leading industry player and contribute to the company's continued growth and success.
