Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technical Support Specialist to join our team at the National Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our Infrastructure Compliance Engineering team, you will be responsible for providing engineering support to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our nuclear facilities.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement pragmatic engineering solutions to meet the objectives of the organization in a cost-effective manner.
- Support maintenance activities by implementing and maintaining the technical basis of maintenance (TBoM) process.
- Assist with planning for complex maintenance activities based on insight and equipment experience.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are clearly briefed, understood, and performed safely and on schedule to ensure safe operation of the facility.
- Comply with legislative, regulatory, and company procedures and standards for safety, quality, risk, and security.
Requirements
- Degree-qualified (Mechanical) or HND in an equivalent discipline. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of stated qualification.
- Strong communications skills, ability to communicate key information with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to demonstrate conservative decision making, even in pressure situations.
- Demonstrable knowledge of operational and maintenance requirements.
- Evidence of self-motivation with demonstrable levels of drive, energy, and resilience.
