Opportunity

We're searching for an experienced HPC Network Engineer to join our company. Your impact will be crucial in designing and maintaining our networks and services while contributing towards the architecture and design of our global networks.

Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work at OQC as a HPC Network Engineer to support our current Network Engineer and provide expertise and support across our growing estate. Initially, this role involves supporting our network infrastructure while assisting with the design, improvement, and expansion. You will collaborate with Software, DevOps, and Quantum teams to provide specialist network and HPC support and advise on the design and expansion of our global network. As the role evolves, you will have the chance to take on individual projects and take ownership of HPC/quantum related projects. This role may require out-of-hours work to ensure our network is secure and all systems are running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide administration, support, and configuration of routing and switching skills.
  2. Offer in-depth firewall knowledge including support and configuration.
  3. Advise on High Performance Computing (HPC) and provide guidance to all teams.
  4. Work in a fast-paced, tech-led environment that is constantly evolving.
  5. Pick up new skills/technologies, including knowledge of Juniper OR Cisco networks.
  6. Contribute towards our Wiki and ITIL processes with good documentation and network design skills.
  7. Implement security standards, best practice, and following security frameworks (ISO, NIST, PCI, SOC, GovS007).

Requirements

  1. Experience of working in a global environment with the ability to support and help build a global network.
  2. Knowledge of IaC - Infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform).
  3. Experience of working with or as a Systems Administrator in a hybrid Windows/Linux environment.
