Job Opportunity: PhD Studentship in Biochar Demonstrator

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD student to join our interdisciplinary Biochar Demonstrator project at the University of Nottingham. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a comprehensive demonstration programme to investigate the effects of biochar on soil biota and physicochemistry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on the impact of biochar on soil biodiversity and ecosystem functions
  • Map onto the Biochar Demonstrator's field trials and collect data on soil biota and physicochemistry
  • Quantitatively analyze the effects of biochar application on soil biota and physicochemistry
  • Collaborate with the research team to develop and implement research plans

Requirements:

  • First- or upper second-class honours degree in the biological sciences
  • Eligibility for paying home fees
