Woodworking Specialist

We are partnering with an award-winning further education provider to fill various skilled craftsperson roles, focusing on Joinery and Maintenance opportunities at Blue Arrow - Derby. The ideal candidate will carry out repair works & fitting to fire doors on site, along with other maintenance jobs to support their education facility.

• Executing a comprehensive range of repairs, maintenance, and planned improvement duties with a focus on multi-skilled works across the University's estate.
• Implementing measures to ensure door integrity by changing and fitting door hinges, intumescent strips, and adjusting gaps in doors to prevent fire spread.
• Installing drop-down seals, replacing handles, carpentry, joinery work, locksmith work, and changing door closers.

• Practical experience in wearing safety equipment
• Possession of a woodwork machinery qualification according to PUWER
• Considerable experience in first and second fix joinery
• Operational proficiency in bench machinery
• Able to interpret construction drawings
• Longstanding experience in working as a Skilled Craftsperson - Joinery and Maintenance

The estimated salary for this position is £16.02 per hour, paid weekly.
