Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily cargo operations, ensuring efficient workflows and adherence to company standards.
  • Develop and implement Service Level Agreements to meet customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with managers and the Cargo General Manager to address operational priorities and challenges.
  • Manage customer complaints and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Attend external and internal meetings to ensure ongoing communication and collaboration.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Monitor and manage operational costs, identifying areas for improvement and potential savings.
  • Identify and arrange necessary training for the team, ensuring compliance with industry-mandated and CAA-required training.
  • Ensure the team is well-versed in security protocols and pass CTC vetting for SSR designation.
  • Participate in CAA inspections, providing necessary documentation and support to inspectors.
  • Conduct regular internal quality assurance audits and ensure continuous improvement across operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment regulations, maintaining companies Safety Policy and Safety Management System.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into incidents, accidents, injuries, near misses, and breaches, documenting all findings.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of freight movement techniques and industry requirements.
  • CM Security training and ability to pass enhanced security vetting (CTC).
  • Dangerous goods certification (or willingness to complete the training).
  • Attention to detail, numeracy, and literacy skills of a high standard.
  • Proficient in understanding and implementing technical procedures.
  • Holds a valid driving license to facilitate travel between sites.
  • People-management skills are essential to lead, train, and manage teams effectively.
  • Either have, or be willing to do a NEBOSH qualification
