Petroineos Refining and Trading, a joint venture between PetroChina and INEOS, is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Facilities Management Team in Grangemouth. Our company is a dynamic and ambitious organization with a strong drive for sustainable growth, and we are currently recruiting for a skilled Electrician to work on a temporary basis for a period of 12 months.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Electrical Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing, maintaining, and repairing Fire and Gas detection equipment located within Petroineos buildings, as well as providing FM E/I technician support for electrical equipment installation, maintenance, fault finding, and improvement. The role requires a strong working knowledge of Fire and Gas detection and testing equipment, as well as the ability to work with external suppliers and OEMs to identify spare parts, drawings, and specialist tooling.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Test, maintain, and repair Fire and Gas detection equipment in compliance with Grangemouth Management Procedures and Standards.
  2. Provide FM E/I technician support for electrical equipment, including installation, maintenance, fault finding, and improvement.
  3. Inspect portable ATEX equipment and upload inspection results into Transform system and Maximo.
  4. Support FM electrician in planned and breakdown works when available.
  5. Liaise with external suppliers, OEMs, and third parties to identify spare parts, drawings, and specialist tooling.
  6. Assess new Work Orders & Service Requests and provide remediation scope when requested.
  7. Ensure all work is well prepared prior to commencing work.
  8. Carry out fault finding, communicate results, and define most appropriate solution to prevent reoccurrence.
  9. Leave all worksites in a condition at least as good as found with regard to housekeeping.
  10. Provide daily feedback to FM planner, updating on progress and/or completion of planned and emergent work scopes.
  11. Complete all required QA and Work Pack documentation as required.
Requirements:
  • Formal Electrical Apprenticeship.
  • SVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition wiring regulations qualification.
  • COMPEX 1-4.
  • Working knowledge of BS 5839 - Fire detection and fire alarm systems for buildings.
  • Capable of reading detailed technical drawings/diagrams, P&IDs, Electrical Schematics Drawings, Instrumentation Loop Drawings.
  • Experience of working on a top-tier COMAH site.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • IT literate and proficient in computer systems.
  • Experience of Maximo CMMS and Transform required.
  • Current driving license.
  • 1st Aid & Isolation approvals.
  • Knowledge of building regulations.

The salary for this role is circa £38k depending on experience.
