Wood is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Controller to support our UK projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the preparation and reporting of project cost budgets, and the tracking, management, and reporting of project expenditure to ensure robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage project cost budgets, ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy and in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards.
- Track and manage project expenditure, identifying areas for cost savings and implementing measures to optimize project costs.
- Prepare and report on project cost documentation, including budget variances and forecasts.
- Support the management and development of the Cost team, including the management of project budgets and actual and forecast costs.
- Act as a focal point for several project scopes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance project efficiency.
- Typically requires an ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience).
- Relevant cost experience, with a strong understanding of cost software and related principles, tools, and techniques, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow.
- Excellent knowledge of Project Execution Procedures for Cost Management, including Change Management.
- Strong understanding of WBS & CBS structures and project reporting capabilities.
- Advanced ability to develop project cost budgets and change estimates.
- Strong understanding of change management and associated cost and schedule processes.
- Excellent understanding of project management principles and techniques.
- Strong understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management.
- Prior experience in a Senior Cost role.
