Job Title: Recruitment & Assessment Social Worker - Adoption West

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Recruitment & Assessment Social Worker in Adoption West, a Regional Adoption Agency and registered Voluntary Adoption Agency. We are seeking a skilled and experienced social worker to join our Recruitment & Assessment Team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, prepare, and assess prospective adopters to ensure they are suitable for adoption.
  • Link and match approved adopters with children in need of a permanent family.
  • Provide support to prospective adopters throughout the adoption process, including post-placement support.
  • Prepare reports for adoption panels and courts to ensure the best interests of the child are represented.
  • Assess and support Early Permanence carers to provide a stable and loving environment for children.
  • Provide duty support across the region to ensure the needs of children and families are met.
  • Assess non-agency adopters to ensure they meet the necessary criteria for adoption.
Requirements:
  • A Social Work Qualification (degree or equivalent) and current registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience of working as a Social Worker or having had a student social work placement with children and families.
  • An understanding of early life experiences and their impact on children and young people.
  • The ability to analyse complex information and make informed decisions.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently, managing a busy caseload and working to deadlines.
