Job Title: Lead Refrigeration Engineer

This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across several site locations. You will be the first line in all service and maintenance throughout your allocated sites. To effectively maintain service and repair Refrigeration Equipment in customer locations and provide assistance to HVAC equipment containing refrigeration circuits. Engineering teams provide 24hr service cover throughout the year to customer's equipment through the use of planned and extended working hours including participation in standby rota procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
  2. Identify non-repairable faults promptly and advise the Line manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacements.
  3. Ensure PPM schedules are completed within agreed timescales and that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
  4. Ensure that all technical and compliance paperwork is always completed and up to date.
  5. Participate on an out of hours standby rota and arrange communication of any cover required due to holidays/unforeseen circumstances to the line manager.
  6. Be aware of regulations and codes of practice applicable to the tasks.
  7. Order and fit parts or components as prescribed by company procedures.
  8. Notify the company helpdesk of procedural task condition on cessation of works.
  9. Advise the GSMs of any repair, maintenance and installation issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store and build rapport with all GSM's.
  10. Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as necessary.
  11. Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the refrigeration supervisor/RFM.
  12. Complete all work to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, while complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.
  13. Carry out all tasks assigned within the allotted time period to the satisfaction of the company and client.
  14. Attend training courses as necessary and ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical and business developments.
  15. Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the company's Health and Safety Policy at all times.
Requirements:

Essential

  1. Suitable Maths & English qualification
  2. Time Served Apprenticeship
  3. NVQ/C&G Refrigeration Based Qualification
  4. Approved Training Program
  5. Refrigerant Handling C&G 2079 or equivalent CITB certificate
  6. Skill Card
  7. Knowledge of Refrigeration, Electrical, Air Conditioning, Mechanical
  8. Ability to Read Drawings
  9. Ability to work at heights
  10. Competent in the use of Access Equipment
  11. Current Full driving licence essential
  12. Available for Out of Hours Working
  13. Participation in Standby Rota
  14. Suitable Personal Tool Kit

  1. Previous experience, post apprenticeship
  2. City or Others Accredited Future Legislation
  3. Hydrocarbon refrigerant certification

  5. BS7671 (IEE 16/17th)
