Job Title: Orthoptist Band 5/6

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Orthoptist to join our team at the Oxford Deanery. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience in a teaching hospital environment and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical services to patients at our main base and community locations.
  • Develop and deliver teaching programs for undergraduate Orthoptic students, Junior Doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver patient care and support.
  • Cover for colleagues during periods of sick leave and annual leave.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in Orthoptic clinical skills for paediatric and adult patients.
  • Ability to work with children with special needs.
  • Visual field assessment experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ocular and neuro anatomy and physiology.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
